What are the risks with sniping?

With BidSlammer, your snipes will be placed with unprecedented accuracy. Your bids will be executed by two systems, not one. You get two systems, each with higher than 99% accuracy, for a combined accuracy that is the best in the business. We do everything to make sure that your bid gets placed.

On a rare occasion, a snipe will miss. We wish we could guarantee 100% accuracy, but unfortunately we cannot -- there are some factors outside our control. unless you see an alert posted on the web site, you can rest assured that our system is running at optimum efficiency.

Some of the problems that we may experience are as follows.

• Internet traffic. The Internet usually runs smoothly, but nobody can predict when there will be "searches" which could delay the information that we send to eBay. For times when Internet traffic is high, we have a backup system that can be enabled to help guarantee our efficiency.

• Problems reported by eBay.  While eBay generally runs very smoothly, they are susceptible to the same kinds of growth problems as any Internet company, and do occasionally report problems with slowness in recording bids or problems with accessing the item listing pages. Sometimes the problems reported do not affect all listings, but only some. In fact, they do not always post complete details on the problems.

• Hardware downtime.  BidSlammer has never experienced a severe crash in its 10+ years of operation. However, we reserve the right to "re-boot" (or temporarily shut down) our systems if we feel there is a security need.

• Our connection to eBay. There are between 15 and 20 connections between us and eBay.  About once a year, one of those connections goes down for a short while.  We will post a message when this happens.
