What is Sniping?
Sniping is the act of placing your bid in the
closing seconds of an auction, in order to hide your interest from other
bidders, and avoid emotional price escalation that would otherwise happen.
Why not place the bid myself?
Everyone knows that the best way to win auctions
is to wait around until the auction is ready to end, and then place a
bid manually during the last
few minutes or seconds. If
you do this, then you have technically "sniped" the auction.
So, why
not use a program that does this automatically for you?
There are many reasons why you should let us
win for you:
Mask your interest. People
usually bid emotionally when they know someone else is interested. When
you bid on an item, the public knows of your interest and the sense of
competition heightens.
Save money. When
you outbid someone, they find out immediately -- and usually drive up
the price.
Save time. Most sellers
use listing services to make their selling experience on eBay easier.
A sniping service is the logical counterpart to a listing service. It
assists the buyer with completing full collections of snipes, which is
something buyers could not otherwise do, if sniping service were not available.
Buy more. Many snipers say that they would
not bid on auctions if it were not for sniping services. Some people have
become so addicted to the sniping service that they simply can't imagine
buying on auctions without it.
You won't forget to bid. Several snipe
users claim that even if they didn't use the snipe service, they would
still make every attempt to bid at the last second manually. These buyers
also claimed to miss several of the snipes they wanted, because they forgot
to tie a string on their finger.
Your bid has a better chance of making it.
People
with 56K modems, or poor internet connections, love to use BidSlammer.
They have difficulty bidding on eBay manually. "I live in a rural
area," wrote a user, "and it may be another 3-5 years before
they'll offer high-speed access in my area. I got tired of losing snipes
because I couldn't bid during the crucial last five minutes. Sniping is
my savior!"
BidSlammer protects your
privacy and bids on your behalf, and no one knows about your bid until
you have won the auction!
