How do I place a snipe?

Entering a snipe into the system is very easy. Before placing a snipe, make sure you are familiar with eBay's minimum bid increment policy.

There are three ways to place snipe:

Method Speed Description
Using Slam-It! toolbar Fastest You cut and paste the item number directly into your personal Home Page.
Importing by Watch List. Fast Add items directly from eBay item description page.
Entering manually Slow
  1. In the input box on the left side of your personal Home Page, enter the item number for which you wish to place a snipe.

  2. In the bid box, enter the maximum amount you are willing to pay for the item.

  3. Click Add Snipe.

Changing or deleting bids

You may modify or delete your snipes up to 10 seconds before closing, or earlier.

Note: Before changing bids, always make sure to click the blue "Refresh All" button to refresh all of your pricing information..

Tracking Bids

You may track snipes without bidding on them by setting the bid amount to zero. Then the bid will be rejected by eBay. You can always turn it back on by specifying a bid amount above zero.
