Can I change or remove my bid prior to closing?

Yes. You may modify or delete your snipes up to 10 seconds before closing, or earlier.

Note: Before changing bids, always make sure to click the blue "Refresh All" button to refresh all of your pricing information..

Hint.  One way to "temporarily shut off" a snipe, but still track it, is to set the bid amount to zero. Then the bid will be rejected by eBay. You can always turn it back on by specifying a bid amount above zero.
