Assuming you met the minimum bid increment, there are a few scenarios where your snipe could be higher but you didn't win.

Some of the problems that we may experience are as follows.

• Internet traffic. The Internet usually runs smoothly, but nobody can predict when there will be "searches" which could delay the information that we send to eBay. For times when Internet traffic is high, we have a backup system that can be enabled to help guarantee our efficiency.

• Problems reported by eBay.  While eBay generally runs very smoothly, they are susceptible to the same kinds of growth problems as any Internet company, and do occasionally report problems with slowness in recording bids or problems with accessing the item listing pages. Sometimes the problems reported do not affect all listings, but only some. In fact, they do not always post complete details on the problems.
