[CRITICAL] No snipes can be placed at all - every item reports "Invalid item number."

166 4 0

Cannot place any bids via API or through the dashboard. All give "Invalid item number.".

To reproduce:
- Enter valid item Number (e.g. 227399988492 or 366500657770) into "Add a Snipe" field on dashboard.
- It says "The item number appears to be incorrect."
- Try to add snipe anyway
- It says "Invalid item number." and does not add the bid!

Seems to have regressed within the last 24h or so, maybe slightly longer.

OK, got to the bottom of it. Seems to be auth related.

Our Bidslammer authorisation was revoked (perhaps because we changed password?), and after this the API calls were silently failing. I'm not sure what API you guys are using (PlaceOffer?), but I know the Trading API has a return code specifcally for "auth revoked" (931/932, possibly others).

I think it would be helpful to detect this and notify the users (rather than a generic "Invalid item number"), since it's something we can fix ourselves.

Probably not a top priority, but definitely something to implement when Fable comes back online, haha.

Cheers,
~Chris

Based on the level of detail and insight you provided, we were wondering if you might be interested in assisting us with quality assurance (QA) testing and providing feedback on future enhancements. There is absolutely no obligation, but if that’s something you’d enjoy, we’d love to hear from you. Simply reply to this message, and we can discuss it further.

Thanks for the response, would be keen to help you guys out with a bit of QA. Do note that we mainly use the API, though.

Cheers,
